Exclusive MAGNUS Club
Bratislava (19 September 2011) – J&T BANKA again introduces a new offer of banking products, which brings changes especially to the revolutionary benefit system - the exclusive MAGNUS Club in addition to changed interest rates. An advertising campaign, launched on TV and the print media as of 19 September, communicates these innovations. Besides for the bold idea itself, the campaign excels again in technical design and unconventional formats.
New advertising campaign
Monika Céreová, Director of J&T BANKA explains the innovations:“We are renowned for having bold campaigns that provoke many and entertain the others but they most probably affect everyone and they force you to think. Our latest campaign, already the third one, has been also created in this spirit. We decided on a black and white version supported by additional gold colour. This combination differentiates us from other ordinary commercials while it enhances the exclusivity of J&T BANKA and its product offer.
Monika Céreová further adds
“The spots are again characterised by a bold idea – if you want to achieve something in your life, you must think of yourself first. Life is about exceptional opportunities and, therefore, it is really important to use every single one since the exceptional ones usually do not return. Advertising agency Wiktor Leo Burnett was involved in the creative design of the latest advertising campaign; it was produced by TV JOJ and directed by Dominik Miškovský.
The first of three spots (unofficially called “An Astronaut”), launched on 19 September, was shot in an ordinary warehouse that was turned into a studio – a space station with a space module. Interestingly, the costumes or the space suits, were imported exclusively from NASA in the U.S., and special sand - loads of it - was brought into the studio to create a real impression of landing on the moon. Moreover, the sand was special as it was not dusty and thereby easier to hover on.
Length of the spot varies from 30 to 50 seconds; three variants of a 10-second spot promoting the exclusive MAGNUS Club will be added to the shorter version alternately.
Another spot that will be launched gradually by the end of October was shot in a beautiful mansion in Tomášovo and the third and last one in a theatre in Brno. The concept of these spots will be revealed prior to their launch.
Interest rates changed from 19 September 2011
From 19 September 2011, the current and potential clients of J&T BANKA can enjoy a new offer of term deposit products, which J&T BANKA offers with a higher interest rate. The changes concern a 1-year term deposit with the interest rate having been increased from 3.1% p.a. to 3.3% p.a., which is by far the most advantageous interest rate on the market. The interest rate for a two-year fixed term grew from 3.7% to 4% p.a. The new unrivalled offer on the market is supplemented with an option to choose one of numerous luxurious benefits of the exclusive MAGNUS Club with the term deposit.
Andrej Zaťko, a member of the Board of Directors and the Sales Director at J&T BANKA, commented on the recent change of interest rates:
“Our bank endeavours to bring its clients the most advantageous opportunities of asset appreciation; from the current deposit accounts to interesting investment opportunities. We always give more to our clients than other banks, and that is true not only for interest rates but also for exclusive extra benefits. Turbulent changes on the markets and their impact on the development of the ECB reference interest rates also affected the changes of interest rates. Despite the fact that the ECB has increased interest rates by 0.5% this year, our increase is not so significant. Rising tension on the financial markets related to the debt crisis, the slowdown of the European economy, and the deepening gloom from the return of a recession on both sides of the Atlantic have indicated in the last few weeks that any further increase of ECB rates cannot be expected before the end of the year. The market has even started discussing their possible decrease back to the level of 1% at the turn of 2011 and 2012, which is also manifested in trading one-year placements, the prices of which have fallen from the July maximums exceeding 2.2% back to levels slightly below 2%.“

Together with the change in interest rates, J&T BANKA also introduces a revolutionary innovation in its autumn campaign, namely the exclusive MAGNUS Club of J&T BANKA. It provides clients with a more flexible and comfortable choice of benefits, the number of which is several times higher compared to the original offer and, moreover, it allows the customers to collect “bonuses” that can be further used together with other benefits. Moreover, the use of the benefits is not limited by time, which means that unlike before, the clients do not need to use them during a term deposit tenure, but anytime after that as well.Every client who opens a term deposit at J&T BANKA becomes a member of the exclusive MAGNUS Club. They receive a loyalty card that can be used to collect and spend the “bonuses” not only for banking products but also for services used at the shops listed at www.jt-banka.sk. The new exclusive MAGNUS Club offers a much wider and varied range of benefits from which the clients can choose according to their preferences and needs; the offer will be supplemented and enlarged on a continuous basis.
